Sandra Cooper can't decide what she wants to be when she grows up, so in the meantime she writes books, plays, blogs, poetry, articles and to-do lists. She wrote "Harmonica Boot Camp" in the back of a vendor's tent at the Arizona Marketplace in Yuma, Arizona in the winter of 2005. It was colder than usual that winter and many days she wore gloves to keep her hands from freezing as she worked at the keyboard of an aging laptop. The laptop gave its last shudder about a week after the final page was written, as if to say that it, too, had had enough of the cold. The accompanying cd was recorded in their motor-home with Sandra sitting on the bed holding the microphone steady between her knees and waiting for trains to go by between takes. It truly was a challenge.
